His advice was direct: ‘If they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long.’ The post came as the US-Iran conflict entered its fifth week, amid growing questions about unusual market activity. Last week, nearly $580 million flowed into oil futures and equity positions just minutes before Trump announced a pause in hostilities against Iranian energy targets. The positions were highly unusual and contrarian, but became profitable when Trump’s announcement triggered a market reversal. Similar patterns were observed in April 2025, when Trump posted ‘This is a great time to buy’ hours before announcing a 90-day tariff pause, which sparked a massive market rally. Ghalibaf’s message suggests that markets are now moving not just on events, but on insider signals and the timing of Trump’s announcements.
