Israel’s military announced it has destroyed a plane used by Iran’s late supreme leader Ali Khamenei at Tehran’s Mehrabad airport. The Israeli Defence Forces stated the aircraft was used by Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials, as well as elements of Iran’s armed forces, to advance military purchases and manage communications with Axis countries through domestic and international flights. Israel claims the destruction damages the Iranian regime’s leadership coordination capabilities with Axis countries, the process of strengthening military capabilities, and the regime’s ability to rebuild. The IDF stated it will continue to take action to target any vehicle used by military forces of the Iranian regime throughout Iran. The strike is part of ongoing Israeli military operations against strategic infrastructure and military establishments in Iran over recent weeks.
