In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Iran launched five ballistic missiles towards central Israel. While the Israeli military successfully thwarted several of the projectiles, some landed in open areas. The strikes forced civilians into shelters, resulting in a 90-year-old woman sustaining serious injuries after a fall while seeking cover. Simultaneously, Iranian state media reported devastating casualties within its own borders, claiming that six children—four girls and two boys under the age of 10—were killed in ‘American Zionist attacks’ targeting Tehran province. Reports from Iran also indicate that 13 people were killed in southeast Tehran, with multiple civilian deaths confirmed. These latest casualties follow a pattern of violence against minors in the war, including a previous strike on a school that claimed over 160 lives. Iran has attributed the overnight violence to coordinated strikes on its territory as the regional crisis continues to intensify with high civilian costs on both sides.
