Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has announced that Iran will not launch further attacks on neighbouring Gulf countries amid the ongoing West Asia conflict. This assurance comes after Iran previously struck UAE, Qatar, and Iraq in retaliation to US-Israel joint military operations against Iran. Gulf nations had mounted pressure on the United States, stating they received no preliminary warnings before becoming targets of Iranian attacks on US assets in their territories. However, President Pezeshkian firmly rejected US President Donald Trump’s demand for Iran’s unconditional surrender, stating that such a dream Americans would take to their graves. The conflict, now in its eighth day since 28 February, has caused significant damage to US bases across the region, with reports of three F-15 fighter jets downed. Iran indicated attacks would cease on Gulf nations provided no strikes on Iran are launched from US bases in those countries.
