Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss regional and international developments. Araghchi briefed his Indian counterpart on the latest situation following what Iran has described as Israeli attacks and their impact on regional and global stability. Iran called for international and regional organisations to condemn military aggression against it and stressed the importance of BRICS in supporting global stability. Jaishankar stated that India is ready to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation in regional and international forums and emphasised the need to strengthen lasting stability and security in the region. This marks the fourth telephonic conversation between the two leaders since the onset of the conflict. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, expressing concern about civilian safety.
