The crucial Fujairah oil port was also hit, disrupting oil loading operations and impacting global shipping. Reports indicate Iran has fired over 1,700 projectiles at the UAE. The nation’s multi-layered air defense system, featuring THAAD and Patriot batteries, has an interception rate of approximately 90-92%. However, the high volume of attacks has allowed some to penetrate defenses. This campaign is viewed as a strategy of "horizontal escalation," designed to widen the conflict and apply economic pressure. The strikes have affected Dubai’s economy, with declines in the real estate index and tourism.
