Rishabh Pant became the most-expensive player in IPL history when he joined the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs. 27 crore.
Shreyas Iyer held the record only briefly as he was picked for Rs. 26.75 crore by the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 auction.
However, Pant now holds the record and will start afresh in a new franchise after leaving the Delhi Capitals.
