An inter-ministerial briefing addressed the ongoing West Asia crisis and its impact on India, covering LPG supply, maritime operations, and repatriation efforts. Officials stated that domestic LPG supply continues with no dry-outs reported at distributorships, though commercial LPG distribution has been affected. Online LPG bookings have increased to 90 percent. The Indian flag vessel Shivalik LPG carrier safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and is expected to reach Mundra port. Twenty-two Indian flag vessels with 611 Indian seafarers remain west of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, with authorities monitoring the situation continuously. Over 550 Indian nationals in Iran have crossed into Armenia through the land border, facilitated by the Indian embassy in Tehran. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that since February 28, around 220,000 passengers from the region have returned to India. State governments have established control rooms to prevent hoarding and black marketing of LPG, with raids conducted in multiple states.
