Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a crucial meeting with Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories on day 28 of the West Asia conflict to discuss its impact on India. The discussions centred on fuel supply, inflation, gas availability, logistics, and energy security. The government stated it has 74 days of reserve capacity, with current stocks available for about 60 days, and crude procurement secured for the next two months. On LPG, domestic refinery production has been ramped up by 40 per cent, with daily output at 50 TMT against a total requirement of 80 TMT. India has secured 800 TMT of assured inbound LPG cargo from countries including the United States, Russia, and Australia. The number of LPG import terminals has doubled from 11 in 2014 to 22 currently. Chief Ministers briefed the Prime Minister on their state’s situation, preparations, and assistance required from the Centre. The Prime Minister emphasised preventing black marketing and hoarding, drawing parallels with the COVID-19 response and stressing the need for Team India spirit.
