Heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir has led to the opening of five gates of the Baglihar Dam in Ramban district. The Salal Dam flood gate has also been opened, posing a flood threat to Pakistan. This comes after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty following a terror attack in Pahalgam. Pakistan is concerned about water scarcity for its Kharif crops and lack of real-time data on water levels.
