In a major aviation crisis, IndiGo has confirmed the cancellation of over 1,000 flights on December 5th alone. Addressing the severe operational disruptions, the airline’s leadership stated that normalcy is expected to be restored between December 10th and 15th. The airline apologised to customers for the inconvenience, citing a ‘reboot’ of systems and schedules as necessary for improvement. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is reportedly providing support to manage the situation, which has left thousands of passengers stranded at airports across the country.
