The guidelines are expected to introduce new early detection tools, prevention strategies, and lifestyle modification protocols. A key focus will be the regulation of modern weight loss drugs like GLP-1 agonists, as the Indian Medical Association has raised alarms about their rampant misuse by unqualified practitioners. One expert emphasized the foundational approach, stating, "lifestyle modification, dietary modification of physical activity are the first line. And along with that, these drugs, GLP-1 receptor agonist are the solution."
