In Sydney, Australia, during a meeting with Australia’s Assistant Defence Minister Peter Khalil, India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India’s defence exports reached about Rs 23,622 crore ($2.76 billion) last year, reaching nearly 100 countries. He noted that India has relaxed its foreign direct investment (FDI) rules, allowing up to 74% FDI automatically in the defence sector, and more with government approval for advanced technology. India is making its defence production system more business-friendly by simplifying rules and processes.
