India's Clinical Trial Deficit: Why Aren't Indians Represented in Global Drug Trials? | India Today

Indian patients often experience delays in accessing new global therapies due to severe underrepresentation in clinical trials. Despite accounting for 17% of the world’s population and 20% of the global disease burden, less than 4% of global clinical trials are conducted in India. To address this gap, pharmaceutical company Roche is partnering with 10 Indian government hospitals to build the necessary capabilities for conducting global clinical trials.
