India has emerged as a major force in shaping global AI governance after 88 nations endorsed the New Delhi Declaration at the AI Impact Summit 2026.
Countries including the United States, China, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Israel, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and the European Union backed India’s vision for “AI for All” — focusing on sovereignty, equitable access, secure systems and international cooperation.
With participation from 118 countries and investment commitments reportedly crossing $250 billion, the summit positions India as a central player in the future of Artificial Intelligence policy and infrastructure.
