The Ministry of Defence has presented a 15-year roadmap for military procurement, preparing for future warfare with lessons from Operation Sindoor. The plan details requirements for all three services, including a third aircraft carrier for the Navy, and drones and stratospheric equipment for the Air Force. The Army is looking to replace equipment like battle tanks. A significant part of the plan is the establishment of ‘Sudarshan Chakra’, a nationwide layered air defence system. "Operation Sindhu has taught us that… it is the, you know, long distance precision guided munitions which deliver great results," a speaker noted. The discussion also covers the development of this system to provide protection to the entire country, much like Israel’s Iron Dome but on a larger scale.
