In a disturbing incident, Indian travel vlogger Anant Mittal, popularly known as ‘On Road Indian’, was detained for 15 hours at a Chinese airport. Speaking to India Today, Mittal revealed he was held by immigration authorities allegedly due to a social media post asserting Arunachal Pradesh as part of India. The IIT Guwahati alumnus described the ordeal as ‘traumatizing’, stating he was denied food and water while his passport was flagged for ‘national security’. Mittal, who admitted he felt ‘powerless’ during the prolonged questioning, warned fellow travellers against expressing political views while abroad. He also clarified that he has no political affiliations.
