An Indian student from Telangana, Mohammed Nizamuddin, was shot dead by Santa Clara police in California. The incident took place on September 3rd, reportedly following a scuffle with his roommate over a petty matter. The family, which is still awaiting full details on the circumstances that led to the shooting, has appealed to the Indian government for assistance. The student’s father made a direct plea to the External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, to help bring his son’s body back to India for the final rites. Mohammed Nizamuddin’s mortal remains are currently being held in a hospital in Santa Clara, California.
