Ahead of the fourth Test match against England at Manchester’s Old Trafford, Indian skipper Shubman Gill spoke on his and the team’s heated confrontation with England openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett, saying that both batters were around one and the half minutes late to the ground with seven minutes of play left and the argument, while it is something he is "not proud of", did not come out of nowhere. He said, “A lot of people have been talking about it. Let me clear the air once and for all. The English batsman on that day had seven minutes of play left. They were 90 seconds late to come to the crease. Not 10, not 20, 90 seconds late. Most of the teams use this. Even if we were in a position, we would have also liked to play fewer overs. But there’s a manner to do it. If you get hit on your body, the physios are allowed to come on, and that is fair. But, coming 90 seconds late on the crease is not something that comes in the spirit of the game… It was something that I’m very proud of.
