India-UK Push To Double Trade; Delhi To Open Nuclear Sector For Private Players

At the India-UK CEOs Forum, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Starmer discussed deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations. Following a £6 billion boost in trade and investment in the three months since a deal was signed, the UK affirmed its commitment to a hands-on follow-through. A key goal announced is to double the current bilateral trade of about $56 billion by 2030. Prime Minister Modi introduced a new four-dimensional framework for the partnership called ‘SITA’—Commerce, Education, Technology, and Aspirations. A major policy announcement was made that India is opening its nuclear power sector to private sector participation. Both leaders emphasized collaboration in technology, defence, and innovation, with a call to "Let India and the UK set Global Benchmarks Together." #indiauk #ukindia #tradedeal #bilateraltrade #investment #modi #starmer #ceosforum #sita #vision2035 #nuclearenergy #privatesector #semiconductors #fintech #indiatoday
