US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived in the UK on Tuesday evening, landing at London Stansted Airport before heading to Winfield House, the residence of the US ambassador in Regent’s Park.
After stepping off Air Force One, the couple were greeted on the tarmac by US Chief of Protocol Ambassador Monica Crowley, Viscount Hood, representing the King, and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.
Later, at Winfield House, Trump thanked Ambassador Warren A. Stephens for “doing a great job” and told reporters the flight was “great.” He added that “tomorrow is going to be a very big day,” with a formal welcome by the King and Queen at Windsor Castle.
Trump will spend two days in Britain, including a Windsor Castle banquet hosted by King Charles III and policy talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers.
