Political scientist Ian Bremmer tells India Today that Iran is clearly losing militarily, with its Navy destroyed, air defences non-existent, and leadership decapitated by Israeli strikes. However, he argues the United States is not achieving its objectives the way President Donald Trump expected. Bremmer states, ‘Trump thought that there would not be significant military blowback in the region. He was wrong.’ The geopolitical analyst, president and founder of Eurasia Group, notes that unlike the Venezuela operation, Trump is facing economic consequences domestically, with gas prices at their highest during his administration. Bremmer suggests the conflict could last four to eight weeks, with potential American boots on the ground. He dismisses this as World War Three, noting Gulf states are not directly involved, and China has sent an envoy to mediate. The war remains unpopular in America, with only a small percentage of Republicans supporting it.
