India has decided to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, with plans to stop excess water flowing to Pakistan. The capacity of dams will be increased using modern technology, and desilting efforts will be undertaken. This decision, discussed in a meeting with the Home Minister, Water Resources Minister, and External Affairs Minister, is expected to impact Pakistan significantly within the next few months.
