India successfully defended their T20 World Cup title, defeating New Zealand in the final at Ahmedabad on Sunday. The Men in Blue posted a record-breaking total of 255 for 5 wickets, the highest ever in a T20 World Cup final. Sanju Samson led the charge with 89 runs, the highest individual score in a T20 World Cup final, while Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan both scored half-centuries. This marked the first time in T20 World Cup final history that the top three Indian batters all scored fifties in the same innings. Samson also set a tournament record with 24 sixes in the edition. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational bowling performance to help India secure consecutive T20 World Cup titles. The victory also broke the Ahmedabad jinx that had worried fans ahead of the final.
