India and Pakistan have reached an understanding on stopping firing and military action. Pakistan’s DGMO initiated a call to India proposing a ceasefire. The Indian government clarified there is no decision to hold talks on any other issue. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated India will maintain its firm stance against terrorism. The ceasefire follows India’s punitive strikes on multiple terror targets inside Pakistan, including locations previously considered untouchable. India has announced a ceasefire with Pakistan following ‘Operation Sindoor’, which involved strikes on multiple Pakistani military and terror targets. The operation reportedly damaged key airbases, air defense systems, radars and terror camps in Pakistan. Officials stated the ceasefire is on India’s terms and does not change recent decisions like putting the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance. A key security meeting is underway with top defense officials to discuss the situation.
