India and Israel elevated their bilateral relationship to a Special Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jerusalem. The two nations signed 16 Memoranda of Understanding covering critical areas including artificial intelligence, quantum technology, defence cooperation, agriculture, cyber security, fisheries, education, and digital payments. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the visit as extraordinarily productive and moving. Modi announced plans to expand agricultural centres of excellence in India to 100, and establish villages of excellence to bring Israeli technology to Indian farmers. Key agreements include establishing a Critical and Emerging Technology Partnership, enabling UPI payments in Israel, and launching the India-Israel Innovation Centre for Agriculture. Both leaders committed to joint development, co-production, and technology transfer in defence. Netanyahu confirmed plans for government-to-government talks in India. The two Prime Ministers emphasised their shared democratic values and commitment to innovation.
