Mandvi Singh, Director of the iFOREST Programme, said India has installed 200 gigawatts of renewable energy so far. Most of this energy is in Western India, and other states face difficulty finding land for projects.
She added that floating solar energy—solar panels on water—could be a good solution. Floating solar is expected to play a big role in India’s next phase of renewable energy growth.
