Additionally, the Indian government has approved the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program to develop a 5th generation fighter jet through public-private partnership. The Aeronautical Development Agency will execute the project with industry partners. The AMCA will have stealth features and advanced avionics. The first prototype is expected by 2028-29, with induction planned for 2035. This comes as Pakistan is set to acquire J-35 fighters from China in the coming months.
