Iran’s ambassador to India, Mohammad Fatali, has indicated that Indian tankers may receive safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasising the strategic relationship between India and Iran. The Indian government has been in regular contact with Iranian authorities, with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar holding two telephonic conversations with Iranian counterpart Sayyed Abbas Araqchi. Around 28 Indian ships with approximately 700 seafarers are stranded in the Gulf of Persia and Gulf of Oman. Six ships carrying energy supplies are likely to pass through the Strait of Hormuz soon. Meanwhile, the conflict intensifies as US Central Command confirmed all six crew members on board a KC-135 strategic tanker that crashed in western Iraq have died. US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that 15,000 targets have been collectively hit across Iran by US and Israeli forces.
