India has reportedly eased its ban on some Chinese websites, with homepages for platforms like TikTok and AliExpress becoming accessible to some users. The mobile applications for these services, however, are said to remain blocked. This development comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to Tianjin, China, for the SCO summit, prompting speculation about a potential thaw in relations between the two countries, which have been tense since the Galwan clashes in 2020. The original ban was enacted citing security and data privacy concerns. While this move could be seen as a significant step, official confirmation is still awaited. One speaker noted, "before we can draw any inference or any conclusion to this thing, let us wait for the government response on this thing, that whether these sites have been unblocked or this is yet another technical issue." #indiachina #tiktok #aliexpress #itwebvideos #websiteunblocked #scosummit #dataprivacy #nationalsecurity #indiachinarelations #breakingnews #chineseapps #digitalindia #mea #technews #geopolitics #narendramodi
