Ahead of the BRICS summit in Russia, India and China have agreed on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh, potentially leading to disengagement at the border. This development follows four years of failed dialogues and recent negotiations between officials from both countries. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Indian and Chinese negotiators have been in constant contact to resolve remaining issues. Relations have been tense since the Galwan Valley clash in 2020, which resulted in casualties on both sides.
