The opposition parties allege this is an effort to benefit the ruling party, with the stated aim of creating a narrative that the exercise is designed to give an "undue advantage to a BJP." The meeting aims to decide on a candidate for the Vice President’s post and to strategize on cornering the government in parliament over these issues. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray and Trinamool Congress’ Abhishek Banerjee are expected to attend.
