The development comes as the opposition coalition, which made a significant dent in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, faces internal pressures. Other allies like Akhilesh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, and Uddhav Thackeray have reportedly sought Mamata Banerjee as the face of the INDIA bloc instead of Rahul Gandhi.
