The INDIA bloc leaders are set to meet for the first time in over 13 months after the Lok Sabha results, but face a significant setback. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to skip the meeting, announcing its departure from the opposition alliance. AAP MP Sanjay Singh stated the party is no longer part of the coalition. He clarified the party’s position, saying, "India gathbandhan jo tha woh lok sabha ka jo chunav tha uske liye tha" (the India alliance was for the Lok Sabha election). The party intends to contest all subsequent assembly elections independently. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which was previously undecided, has confirmed its attendance at the virtual meeting. The meeting’s agenda is to devise a strategy for the upcoming parliament session, but with AAP’s exit, a major question arises over whether the Congress can maintain opposition unity.
