The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has defended its $1 billion bailout package to Pakistan, stating that the country met all targets set by the global body. The IMF’s executive board approved the disbursement as part of the extended fund facility. In exchange, the IMF has imposed 11 new conditions on Pakistan, including seeking parliament approval for the federal budget by June and implementing agricultural income tax reforms. The IMF director stated, ‘Our board found that Pakistan had indeed met all of the targets.’
