An Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter aircraft crashed near Bhanuda village in Rajasthan’s Churu, resulting in the death of both pilots. This marks the third such crash in recent months, raising concerns about the aircraft’s safety. The IAF has initiated a court of inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. The crash has highlighted broader issues facing the Indian Air Force, including an aircraft shortage and the continued use of aging fleets. According to security expert Sandeep Unithan, the IAF is operating with 31 fighter squadrons against an authorized strength of 42. The Jaguar, being the second most widely used aircraft in the IAF, is facing operational challenges as India remains the last country to use this model.
