The Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh, has criticised Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for delays in supplying Tejas fighter jets. He expressed lack of confidence in HAL’s ability to meet timelines, as the IAF’s squadron strength depletes. The Chief highlighted that promised deliveries of the first 40 Tejas aircraft have not been met since 2016. HAL’s chairman responded by assuring focus on meeting requirements.
