Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has addressed the ongoing power tussle in the state, affirming that he will remain in his position for the full five-year term. This comes amidst speculation about a potential leadership change involving Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Siddaramaiah stated, ‘I will be the Chief Minister for five years,’ dismissing reports of a two-and-a-half-year rotation formula. He emphasized that the Congress High Command supports his leadership. However, Shivakumar’s supporters are demanding the implementation of a rotation formula and urging the party’s high command to intervene. The BJP has criticized the situation, calling it a drama to divert attention from corruption allegations. Siddaramaiah also mentioned that he would follow any decision made by the party’s high command, stating, ‘Ours is a High Command party. Whatever High Command takes a decision, everyone has to follow.’
