Actor Dalip Tahil spoke candidly about Mumbai’s severe air pollution crisis, appearing on camera wearing a mask and wearable air purifier to demonstrate the gravity of the situation. Tahil, who lives in the suburbs between Khar West and Bandra, revealed that approximately 250 properties are being redeveloped within just one kilometre, creating what he described as a ‘dust bowl’ for residents. He stated, ‘You cannot breathe clean air in Bombay city anymore, or its suburbs.’ Tahil shared that he has suffered multiple viral infections in the past three months due to pollution and carries an ionizer that clears pollutants around his breathing area. He emphasized that the problem affects children and residents across the city, with doctors prescribing nasal sprays and anti-histamines to combat dust-related ailments. Tahil called on the Maharashtra government to address the crisis on a war footing, stating the blame lies squarely with the state government to protect public health while acknowledging that metro construction and development are decades overdue.
