Hyderabad News LIVE: Dikshant Parade Of IPS Probationers Of The 77 RR At Academy Parade Ground
The Dikshant Parade of the 77th Regular Recruit (RR) batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers is a ceremonial passing-out event held today, October 17, 2025, at the Academy Parade Ground of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad, Telangana. This prestigious parade marks the culmination of the 45-week Phase-I basic training for 190 officer trainees, including 174 IPS probationers and 16 foreign officers from Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives. Notably, 65 of the trainees are women, representing a record 35.63% female participation—the highest in IPS history—highlighting the growing role of women in India’s policing leadership.
The parade showcases the probationers’ discipline, valor, and commitment through a synchronized march-past, drill demonstrations, and awards ceremony. BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary serves as the Chief Guest and Reviewing Officer, addressing the trainees on modern policing challenges. Anjith A Nair leads as Parade Commander, while Kirti Yadav receives the IPS Association’s Sword of Honour for Best Outdoor Probationer and the Director’s Trophy for Best Lady Probationer in Outdoor Training. Following the event, trainees will proceed to district practical training and attachments with central forces before Phase-II in 2026. The batch, inducted on December 9, 2024, after a foundation course in Mussoorie, hails predominantly from Uttar Pradesh (35 officers), with representation from all states, including 7 from Telugu states (5 from Andhra Pradesh, 2 from Telangana).
