A 25-year-old software engineer, Satvik, was killed in Hyderabad after a damaged electric pole crashed on him. The incident occurred while he was returning from Ganpati Darshan on a two-wheeler. CCTV footage captured the moment the pole fell, causing a fatal head injury, and he died on the spot. Family members and local residents accuse authorities of negligence, stating that "the civic apathy or local negligence of the electricity officials has led to this particular incident." This death is not an isolated event. In the preceding 12 to 13 days, eight to nine other deaths due to electrocution have been reported in the nearby areas of Sarunagar and Dilshubh Nagar. The incidents highlight concerns about public safety and infrastructure maintenance, especially during the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festival when large crowds are present.
