Heavy rains have led to massive flooding in Hyderabad, causing significant disruption. One person has reportedly drowned in the floodwaters in the Begumpet area. In response to the crisis, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has put authorities on high alert, ordering all department heads to coordinate their efforts to prevent further loss of life. The Chief Minister advised people, "to be alert in the low-lying areas especially and not to venture out of their houses during this very emergency." The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for the city for the next few hours. While the rain has stopped, several low-lying areas in Sikanderabad and other parts of Hyderabad remain inundated. Local residents have been seen conducting rescue operations for those stranded by the rising waters.
