Stars may look calm and beautiful in the night sky, but their formation is anything but peaceful. NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of a protostar, designated J1672835.29-763111.64, still in its early stages of development. Located around 400 to 600 light-years from Earth, this young star is surrounded by a dense cloud of gas and dust. The image shows the chaotic process where gas collapses under gravity, forming a spinning disc that feeds the growing star. Eventually, solar winds and other forces slow its growth as it matures. This image offers a rare glimpse into the violent birth of a star.
