A horrific crime has come to light from Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a deaf and mute woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped while returning home. The incident reportedly occurred just a few meters from the residences of top district officials, with CCTV cameras in the area found to be off. Police began an investigation after the woman’s brother filed a complaint. Two accused were arrested within 24 hours following an encounter, but a manhunt is on for other remaining accused. The family found the woman in an unconscious state in bushes, and she was later shifted to a hospital. The family and the girl herself have claimed that it is a gang rape, and sections of gang rape have been registered in the case.
