On this India Today exclusive, South Korean tourist Kim Sung-kyung narrates the horrific ordeal she faced at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. Kim was allegedly molested by an airport staffer, identified as Afan Ahmed, who lured her to a secluded area near a men’s washroom under the guise of a security check. Speaking about the incident, Kim stated, ‘He said my check-in log is making a beeping sound beep beep,’ which led her to follow him for what she believed was a professional security procedure. The accused, Afan Ahmed, has since been arrested by the police following swift action aided by Singapore Airlines staff and CCTV footage. Despite the traumatic experience, Kim maintained a balanced view, noting that the individual’s actions do not represent the whole of India, though she called for better security systems and the presence of female staff for female passengers to ensure safety at airports.
