The Bihar cabinet has approved approximately 880 crore rupees for the new temple, as the existing one is in a state of disrepair. The opposition is questioning the timing of the event, alleging it is a tactic to polarise votes. Leader Tejasvi Yadav has been quoted asking, "Why doesn’t the Union Home Minister speak about corruption which is rampant in Bihar? Why doesn’t he speak about unemployment which is in Bihar?".
