Himachal Pradesh is facing severe monsoon-related challenges with 78 deaths reported since the start of the season. The state has experienced 14 cloudburst incidents and three flash floods, with Mandi district being the worst affected. 14 people have died in Mandi, 5 are injured, and 30 are missing. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts in several districts, warning of continued heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides and flash floods. Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut inspected the flood-affected areas and criticized the Congress government for inadequate relief efforts. About 250 personnel from various agencies including NDRF, SDRF, Army, and ITBP are engaged in relief work.
