Himachal Pradesh has been severely affected by torrential rain, leading to widespread damage and loss of life. The state has reported 78 deaths since the start of the monsoon season. Mandi district is the worst hit, with 14 fatalities, 5 injuries, and 30 people missing. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts for several districts, warning of continued heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides and flash floods. At least 14 cloudburst incidents and three flash floods have been reported in recent days. About 250 personnel from various agencies, including NDRF, STRF, Army, ITBP, and Home Guards, are conducting search and rescue operations. BJP MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, inspected flood-affected areas and accused the Congress government of not providing adequate relief. The situation remains critical as rescue and relief efforts continue across the affected regions.
