The monsoon season consistently brings this issue to the national capital, impacting office goers and commuters who face rush hour traffic intensified by the weather. The situation in Gurugram is particularly challenging due to persistent drainage problems. One concern raised is that ‘Year after year, we see this waterlogging issue resurfacing again and again. So there is clearly an administrative particular lapse, if we speak of, which needs to be taken care of in the National Capital, when we speak of the rains and how it is to be tackled.’ Independence Day rehearsals are also contributing to traffic disruptions.
