An Indian international student, Charanpreet Singh, has been hospitalised with a facial fracture and a brain injury following a violent and allegedly racially motivated attack in Adelaide, Australia, on Saturday, 19th of July. The incident, which reportedly escalated from a minor issue over parking, saw the student punched, kicked, and attacked with metal knuckles and sharp objects. His wife was also ambushed during the assault. This event is highlighted as another instance in a history of such attacks on Indian students in the country, raising serious concerns for the Indian community. An expert in the programme noted the recurring nature of these incidents, stating that despite condemnations, there is often a lack of "concrete action, any deterrent action, which should be there." This has previously led to dips in the number of Indian students choosing Australia for higher education.
